What is a Veterinary Dentist?

A board certified veterinary dentist has advanced training in dentistry and oral surgery and has completed an extensive written and practical exam.

After earning a doctorate of veterinary medicine from an accredited 4 year veterinary school, a dentist completes a minimum 2 to 3 year residency training in dentistry. A veterinary dentist is recognized as a diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College and is joined by approximately 150 other diplomates throughout the world.
